Though it is tempting to think of computers in terms of a general-purpose machine that sits on a desktop, this represents only one of their many uses. Most computers are used as components within engineering systems such as cars, mobile phones, domestic equipment and industrial machines. In order to be able to design such computer systems an engineer needs a good knowledge of computer hardware and software, but also needs to understand the engineering systems involved. The Computer Engineering elective provides this breadth of coverage.
The Department of Computer Engineering offers undergraduate ‘Bachelor of Engineering’ degree that covers the entire spectrum of computing. From designing computers and smart appliances, to programming games and enterprise websites, our graduates are at the cutting edge of science, engineering, and technology. The department conducts four years degree course in “Bachelor of Computer Engineering” affiliated to University of Pune, India.
The “Bachelor of Computer Engineering” degree program has a two-part objective.
The first is to provide students with a strong background in mathematics, physics, and engineering science. The curriculum includes courses in digital systems, integrated circuits design, and computer organization; also includes operating systems, compiler construction and software engineering. The second objective is to provide students with the skills necessary to be effective contributors in a quality-oriented, customer-focused environment. Courses throughout the program, especially those in the junior and senior years, emphasize an open-ended, design-oriented approach to solving engineering problems. Teamwork, communication skills, and an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving are integrated into the senior, computer engineering design courses.
